Worm in Apple Worm Recipes

WORM CAKES

Ingredients:
1 Packet of Chocolate Cake Mix
3 Cups of Biscuit Crumbs - Any Flavour
1 Quantity of Chocolate Icing
1 Packet of Gummy Worms

Method:
Prepare the cake mix according to packet directions. Pour the mix into patty cake pans or papers, and cook as directed on packet (aprox 10 - 15 mins at 180C). Leave to cool.
Ice the patty cakes with chocolate icing and sprinkle biscuit crumbs on top.
Cut the gummy worms in half. Put icing onto the cut ends, and stick onto the cakes.
Leave till the icing sets.

Icing:
1 - 2 Tablespoons boiling water (enough to make icing spreadable)
1 Cup of Icing Sugar
1 Teaspoon butter
1 Tablespoon of sifted icing sugar
Mix ingredients together with a wooden spoon till a spreadable consistency.

DIRT CAKE - YUM

Ingredients:
1 lb. pkg. of cream-filled chocolate cookies
1/4 cup butter or hard margarine, softened at room temperature
8 oz cream cheese, softened at room temperature
1 cup icing (confectioner's) sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 boxes instant chocolate puddings (the 4 servings/box size)
6 cups milk
4 1/3 cups whipped cream
15 gummy worms

Method:
1. Put the cookies in the blender or food processor and process until they become fine crumbs. Set aside.
2. Put the butter or margarine, cream cheese, icing sugar and vanilla flavoring in the bowl. Beat on low speed to mix then beat on medium speed until smooth.
3. Add the chocolate pudding powders and milk to the bowl. Beat on low speed to combine.
4. Fold the whipped topping into the pudding mixture with a rubber spatula. Assemble in an ungreased pan in layers as follows:
1st layer: - 1/3 cookie crumbs
2nd layer: - 1/2 pudding mixture
3rd layer: - 1/3 cookie crumbs
4th layer: - 1/2 pudding mixture
5th layer: - 1/3 cookie crumbs
Tuck the ends of the gummy worms in the cookie "dirt".
Store in the refrigerator. Chill for at least 3 hours before serving.
In my opinion, this dirt is much better than the organic variety.

NIGHT CRAWLERS

Ingredients:
12 large apples
1 8-ounce jar boysenberry jam
4 tablespoons butter
12 gummy worms

Method:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Core apples from the stem end to 1/2 inch from the bottom. Do not push through. Stuff each hole with 1 teaspoon each jam and butter.
Place in a pan and bake uncovered for 35 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the apples. When done, the apple should be tender but not mushy. Remove the apples from the oven. Let cool 15 minutes.
Now set each apple in a bowl and spoon syrup from the baking pan around it. In top of each apple, insert a gummy worm with at least half of its body protruding.

DIRT'n'WORMS

INGREDIENTS:
2 Pkg. Of Oreo’s (Chocolate Cream Biscuits)
1/2 cup Butter or Margarine
1 Pkg. Cream Cheese
2 Boxes Vanilla Pudding
3 1/2 cups Milk
16 Oz. Whipped Cream
1 Pkg. Gummi Worms (optional)
1 Clean Flower Pot (8in diameter x 5-7in deep)
A Small Assortment of Plastic Flowers

METHOD:
Take the Oreo’s and put them in a zip lock bag. Pound on them until thoroughly crushed, and looking like soil/dirt. Set aside.
In large bowl, beat together butter and cream cheese. Add the pudding mix.
Gradually mix in milk. And then very carefully (because it gets rather full) add the Whipped Cream.
Take the flower pot and alternate between the pudding mixture and Oreo’s,starting with the Oreo’s . Layering Oreo’s, pudding, Oreo’s, pudding, Oreo’s, pudding, etc. with Oreo’s on top for the soil.
If you like, you can stick the worms in the layers for fun. Once your pot is full, stick the flowers in. Cool!!!
Store in refrigerator

CHOCOLATE COATED WORMS

INGREDIENTS:
Peel 2 large oranges
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup sugar
185grms cooking chocolate

METHOD:
Carefully peel the oranges and cut the peel into thin strips. Place the peel in a pan of water and simmer for 5 minutes. Drain
Combine sugar and 1/4 cup water. Stir over low heat until the sugar is dissolved. Add peel, simmer for 10 minutes. Drain and allow peel to dry thoroughly (about 2 hours).
Melt chocolate. Place several orange straws in chocolate, remove carefully, tapping gently on side of pan to remove excess chocolate.
Place choc-coated 'Worms' on greaseproof paper.
